America's Grasslands Exhibit

WLFW and NRCS South Dakota are pleased to make the powerful America's Grassland Exhibit available for NRCS and partners to use at indoor events for educating and promoting healthy grasslands. 

NRCS staff and partners can reserve the five primary exhibit panels and the Landowner Led, Science Informed, and Partner Supported banners.

Please fill out the form below at least three weeks in advance of your event date. Note that the exhibit may already be reserved by other parties but we will work to meet all requests.

 

This immersive exhibit includes a 8x50’ modular mural that is broken into five 8x10’ panels. 

Available materials also include three 32-inch wide x 90-inch tall banners.

Frequently Asked Questions

I want to borrow materials from the America’s Grasslands exhibit. How long before my event do I need to request materials?

Please request America’s Grassland Exhibit materials at least three weeks prior to your event. The sooner you request your dates, the better. Sometimes requests overlap and dates are first come-first reserved.

Who is eligible to borrow these materials?

Anyone is eligible to borrow the America’s Grasslands Exhibit subject to NRCS South Dakota State Office and WLFW approval.

How is America’s Grasslands Exhibit funded?

The exhibit was originally sponsored by Working Lands for Wildlife (WLFW), the South Dakota Association of Conservation Districts (SDACD), South Dakota Association of Conservation Districts Employees (SDACDE), South Dakota Grassland Coalition (SDGC), South Dakota Soil Health Coalition (SDSHC), Pheasants Forever, Inc. and Quail Forever, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Today it is managed by WLFW, NRCS South Dakota and the NRCS Distribution Center in Kansas City, MO.

Yes, please email Greg Peters, Assistant Communications Director at Working Lands for Wildlife, with more details of your request. The materials you need may still be available.

How will the borrowed items be shipped and returned?

The NRCS National Distribution Center in Kansas City, MO will ship the items and provide a return label for return shipment (via UPS). The NRCS will pay for both outgoing and return shipping.

What will I need for the exhibit that is not included in the materials?

Depending on what is borrowed, you may need other materials to fully utilize the exhibit. Ex: extension cords, internet/electricity access and more. A complete list will be given upon contract completion.

Is the America’s Grasslands Exhibit suitable for outdoor events?

No. The America’s Grasslands Exhibit is not be available for outdoor events because it is made of non-weather-proof fabric, difficult to secure to the ground in the event of wind, and requires electricity.
